Almost everyone using Instagram has a general idea of chatting on the app through Direct Messages. But, when it comes to Message Request, you may wonder about its existence.
If a non-follower sends you a message, their messages land on the Message Request tab named “Requests”. These messages can be viewed and read by you, but until you accept the message, the users won’t be able to view the seen status.

How Can You Check Message Requests On Instagram Without Them Knowing
Step 1: Open the Instagram application.
Step 2: Tap the chat icon present at the top right corner of the screen. This will open the message inbox.
The message inbox will be classified into three sections if you have a business account –
1) Primary tab that stores the important messages and you will receive notification for these messages.
2) General tab consists of the less important messages and you don’t get any notifications for these types of messages.
3) Requests tab, which includes the message requests (the messages you receive from the people you don’t follow).
If you have a personal account, there are only two tabs – Primary and Requests.
Step 3: Tap the “Requests” tab. It will now show all the message requests you’ve received.
Step 4: Click on a message to read it.
The message will not be marked as seen to the sender until you accept it.
You can either block the user, delete the message request or accept the message to continue the conversation.

Step 1: Go to instagram.com and log in to your account if you aren’t already logged in.
Step 2: Click the chat icon at the top next to the home icon.

Why Do the Message Requests Disappear?
