Sometimes, there arises a situation where you need to send yourself a note or something. For instance, you may want to make a shopping list and keep it with yourself on your phone. Although a note app will do the same task, WhatsApp may even make it more convenient.
It’s quite easy to message yourself on WhatsApp and it can be done in no time. Let’s see how you can use this feature.
How to Message Yourself On WhatsApp
You can either use your mobile phone or desktop.
This will work on both android and iPhone.
Step 1: Open a browser on your mobile device.
Step 2: In the URL bar, type wa.me//yournumber.
You also need to add your country code before the number.
For example, if you are a resident of the US, you need to enter 1 before the number – wa.me//1XXXXXXXXXXX.
For UK, wa.me//44XXXXXXXXXXX.
For India, wa.me//91XXXXXXXXXX
Step 3: Once you type the above link and press enter, a prompt will appear on your browser asking you to open WhatsApp.
Step 4: Tap Open.
Step 5: A chat with yourself will now open in your WhatsApp app. Your mobile number and profile picture will be displayed at the top.
The chat is similar to the way you chat with others.
Step 6: Type a message and press Send.
How to Send Something To Yourself On WhatsApp Web
This method is almost similar to the above.
Step 1: Open a browser on your computer.
Step 2: Type wa.me//number in the URL bar. Make sure to include the country code before your number as explained above.
Step 3: On the new page, click CONTINUE TO CHAT.
Step 4: Now, select the WhatsApp application or WhatsApp Web.
A chat will now open where you can send a message to yourself.
What’s the Catch?
Though this feature is quite useful, it also has a major drawback.
The messages you send yourself are not synced on both the mobile app and the web. If you send something to yourself using the mobile app, the chat won’t be shown on the WhatsApp web and vice versa.
