TikTok allows you to change your display name as many times as you want without any time restriction.
In this article, I will show you how to change your name on TikTok. Also, I’ll be showing how you can change your username and the restrictions you have while doing so.
How to Change Name On TikTok
Step 1: Open the TikTok application and tap the profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
Step 2: On your profile page, tap the Edit profile button.
Step 3: Tap Name at the top.
Step 4: Make the changes you want.
Note: Display Name on TikTok should not exceed 30 characters.
Step 5: Tap Save in the top-right corner.
Congratulations, you have successfully updated your name on TikTok. You can change your name anytime without any limitation.
Your display name will be shown at the top (above the profile picture) on your profile page.
In addition to your name, you can also change your username on TikTok. The following guide will help you to update your username.
How to Update Your TikTok Username
Step 1: Open the TikTok application and tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
Step 2: On your profile, tap the Edit profile button.
Step 3: Select Username.
Step 4: Remove your current username, then enter a new one.
If the username you entered is already used by someone, you will see an error message that says, “This username isn’t available. Try a suggested username, or enter a new one.” You can look at the suggested usernames at the bottom to see if it’s perfect.
Additionally, you can only include letters, underscores, numbers, and periods (which can’t appear at the end) in your TikTok username.
Step 5: Once you have got the right username, tap Save.
You can now see your changed username below your profile picture on your profile page.
Note that changing your username on TikTok is not as same as changing your display name. TikTok only lets you change your username once every 30 days.
It is also worth noting that changing your username will even cause you to lose your verification.
