Lately, many Facebook users have reported that they are unable to edit their old posts. The “Edit post” option has gone missing for a while.
if you’re in the same situation of not being able to edit your post you’re not alone. In this article, I’ll be mentioning some tips to get back an option to edit the post.
Here’s how the post is edited usually:
How to Edit Facebook Post
Step 1: Launch the Facebook app on your device and go to the post you want to edit.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the top-right of the post.
Step 3: Select Edit post.
Now, make the changes and tap SAVE in the top-right.
Can’t Edit Facebook Post?
It is seen that the “Edit post” option is missing only on iPhone. Android users have an option to edit their posts.
Here are some of the potential fixes that you can try:
Use an Android Device:
After my personal testing and research, I found that the “Edit post” option is unavailable only on iPhones while the Android app still has it.
So, if you have an Android device, log in to the same Facebook account in it and edit your post from there.
Use Facebook Web:
The “Edit post” option isn’t missing in the web version of Facebook.
So, go to facebook.com on your mobile or computer browser, log in to your account, find the post you want to edit, tap the three dots in the top-right, select Edit Post, then make the changes you want, and save it.
These two methods will help you to edit your post on Facebook.
If you still want an option to edit the post using your mobile app, here are a few steps you can follow.
#1: Update your app to the latest version from Google Play Store or App Store.
#3: Use an Older Version of Facebook if the updated one isn’t working well. You can find older versions here.
#4: The issue may be just a bug. So, wait for a few hours until the Facebook Team identifies the glitch and fixes it.
