Facebook has recently rolled out a new feature called Facebook Protect.

Popular profiles on Facebook have an increased chance of being targeted by hackers. They can target Facebook profiles with a huge following and use their influence for their selfish needs.

Facebook has realized this fact and decided to provide greater security to users by introducing the Facebook Protect feature.  

The feature has not been rolled out to all Facebook users at the present moment. But, the platform claims that it will be providing this feature soon to all users over time.

All users who are eligible to use the Facebook Protect feature will get a notification on their News Feed about the same and they need to enable it otherwise Facebook may lock their account.

How to Turn On Facebook Protect

You can turn ON Facebook Protect using a mobile app or computer.

Using Mobile App

Step 1: Launch the Facebook app and search for a notification in your News Feed about enabling Facebook Protect.

You need to first receive a notification from Facebook about turning on Facebook Protect before you can enable the feature. If you do not receive a notification, it also means that you may not need to turn on Facebook Protect on your profile.

Step 2: Tap Get Started to head into the welcome screen.

Step 3: Tap the Next button which will take you to the Facebook Protect benefits screen and then tap the Next button again.

Now, Facebook will start scanning your profile for potential vulnerabilities and will recommend suggestions to resolve them. Most recommended solutions include setting a stronger password and turning on two-factor authentication.

Step 4: Tap Fix Now and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process of enabling the Facebook Protect feature on your profile.

Using Desktop

Step 1: Visit facebook.com on your computer and log into your account.

Step 2: Click the downward arrow in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Select the Settings & Privacy option from the menu and click Settings.

Step 4: Click the Security and login option, then click Get Started under Facebook Protect.

Step 5: Click the Next button on the welcome page. Now, you will be led to the Facebook Protect benefits screen.

Step 6: Click the Next button on the Facebook Protect benefits page.

Now, Facebook will start scanning your profile for potential vulnerabilities and will recommend suggestions to resolve them. Most recommended solutions include setting a stronger password and turning on two-factor authentication on your profile.

Step 7: Click Fix Now and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process of enabling the Facebook Protect feature on your profile.
