How to Trim a Sound On TikTok
You can trim a sound on TikTok in two different ways. You can either trim the sound before recording your clip or after recording the clip. We have covered both of them below.
Trim a Sound Before Recording
Step 1: Launch the TikTok app on your device and tap the + icon that appears in the bottom middle of the app’s screen.
Step 2: Tap the “Add sound” option appearing at the top center of the screen.
Step 3: Choose the sound or music of your choice.
Step 4: Once you’ve selected it, you can see an option below the selected sound which says “Choose the part you want to use“. Now, drag and adjust the slider to select the part of the sound.
Step 5: Once the sound is trimmed, tap the red checkmark icon that appears to the right of the sound you’ve selected.
You have successfully trimmed the music and now you are ready to record your TikTok video with that sound.
Trim a Sound After Recording
Step 1: Launch the TikTok app on your device and tap the + icon that appears in the bottom middle of the interface.
Step 2: Record a video or select one from your device, then tap Next.
Step 3: Tap the Sounds option in the bottom-left corner of the interface to choose music for your recorded clip.
Now, you can either select music from TikTok’s recommended sounds or your favorites.
Step 4: After selecting the music for your clip, tap the scissors icon that appears next to the selected sound.
Step 5: You can trim the sound as you like by dragging the sound wave accordingly. Tap Done once you’ve completed editing the sound.
