Step 3: Once you are on google.com, tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the screen.
Step 4: From the listed options, select Settings.

Step 6: Scroll below to the Auto-complete with trending searches section.
Step 7: Select the option Do not show popular searches.
Step 8: Save the settings by tapping the Save button at the bottom.
Now, go back to google.com and Google will no longer recommend the trending searches.

You can also get rid of the trending searches on your PC or desktop whether you are using a Windows or a Mac. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Launch the Google Chrome App on your desktop.
Step 2: Go to google.com
Step 3: Click the Settings icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select Search Settings.
Step 4: Navigate to Auto-complete with trending searches.
Step 5: Select the option, Do not show popular searches, and save the settings by clicking Save at the bottom.
You may be asked to solve a captcha. If prompted, click the checkbox next to I’m not a robot.
Trending searches will now be disabled on Google on your desktop.
