Many people like watching a video with captions. It is especially true when you watch a video in a language different from what you speak.
Perhaps to meet this goal, TikTok has introduced an auto-captions feature for their users. However, sometimes you might not find the automatic captions useful. It is usually the case when you are well versed with the language spoken in the video.
If you feel captions are annoying, you can turn them off. Here’s how you can do that.
How To Turn Off Subtitles On TikTok
Step 1: Open the TikTok video on which you want to disable the automatic caption.
Step 2: Tap the subtitles that appear on the video.
Step 3: Tap Hide captions.
You have successfully turned off the automatically generated captions on the video.
Note that turning off the caption on one TikTok video will disable it on other videos too. However, you can easily turn it on whenever you want.
To turn the captions on, tap the caption icon on the left of the screen. Doing so will turn on automatic captions on videos wherever possible.
Here’s also an alternate way to disable auto-generated captions.
Step 1: Launch the TikTok app and tap Profile in the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Tap the three lines in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select Settings and privacy.
Step 4: Navigate to CONTENT & ACTIVITY, then tap Accessibility.
Step 5: Now, disable Always show auto-generated captions.
