Can You Edit Instagram Comments?
Instagram only allows users to edit the captions of their posts at the present moment. In other words, you cannot edit the comments you have left on someone’s posts. However, there is a workaround for editing your comments on Instagram.
You can delete your original comment and write a new comment. Here is how you can do that.
There are two cases in which you can delete your Instagram comments:
- The first case is when someone comments on your post and you want to delete it.
- The second case is when you leave a comment on someone else’s post and you want it to be deleted.
Remember that you cannot delete other people’s comments on others’ posts. You can only delete your own comments.
Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and locate the post with the comment you want to edit or delete.
Step 2: Tap the comment icon below the post.
Step 3: If you are using an Android device, tap and hold the comment, then press the delete icon in the top right.
On iPhone, swipe left over the comment and tap the red bin icon to delete the comment.
Step 4: Now, write a new comment in the comment field and tap Post.
This is the only way to edit your comment.
Instagram may come up with a feature to edit a comment similar to what YouTube offers.
