How to Send Location On Messenger 2022

With the new and more fun social media apps coming up, Facebook has started to lose the charm it used to hold. However, still, there is a certain crowd who prefer Facebook Messenger, mainly because they have been using Facebook for a fairly long period and are used to its usage.

Another reason Facebook Messenger is better than other messaging apps is that it doesn’t require you to share your contact number, unlike WhatsApp. Likewise, Messenger has more useful features than other advanced social apps. 

One of the interesting features that Messenger offers is Location Sharing. With this, you can share your exact location with your friends which will help them locate you effortlessly.

How to Share Your Current Location On Messenger App

This works on both Android and iPhone.

Step 1: Launch the Messenger app on your device.

Step 2: Open the chat with the person you want to send your location to.

Step 3: In the bottom left corner of the conversation, you will see a four-dots icon. Tap it.

Step 4: Select Location.

Step 5: A pop-up will appear asking you to allow location access. Following the onscreen instructions to grant the location access.

Step 6: Once the map appears, tap START SHARING LIVE LOCATION.

Your current location will be shared for 60 minutes after which it will end automatically. You can manually stop sharing your location by tapping STOP SHARING.

How to Send Location Other Than The Current Location On Messenger

In addition to your current location, you can also share other locations. Here’s how to do that.

Step 1: Open the Messenger App.

Step 2: Tap a conversation to open it.

Step 3: Tap the four-dots icon in the bottom-left.

Step 4: Tap Location.

Step 5: Tap the pin icon in the bottom right.

Step 6: Place the pin at the location you’d like to share.

Step 7: Tap SEND LOCATION.

Else, you can use the search bar to find a location of your choice.

Can You Share Location On Messenger Using PC?

No, Messenger does not provide an option to share your location on a PC. Currently, this feature is restricted only to mobile apps. However, in the near future, we might expect to see the location sharing option on computers as well.
