Instagram Stories are not permanent until they are kept in the Highlights section. Stories last only for 24 hours and after that, they are gone.
What if you find some Stories interesting that you want to save for later reference? The only way to keep it for future purposes is to screenshot it and save it to your phone’s gallery.
Now, you might be thinking “Will the other person know if I screenshot their Stories?” or “Will I know if someone screenshots my Story?”
Well, here’s the answer.
How to See Who Screenshotted Your Instagram Story?
Back in 2018, there was a feature that allows you to see who screenshotted your story.
All you need to do is go to your story and view the people who had seen your story. The one who has screenshotted will be shown with a star-like icon next to the username.
But by June 2018, the feature was removed by Instagram.
From there onwards, you can’t track users who have screenshotted your story neither can they know if you screenshot their stories.
Can You See Who Screenshotted Your Instagram Post?
Just like stories, Instagram doesn’t notify if someone takes a screenshot of your Instagram Post.
If someone screenshotted your posts, you won’t be notified and you’re safe too if you take a screenshot of someone else’s posts. Instagram doesn’t send notifications in either case.
Keep Yourself Away from Third-Party Apps or Websites
There are applications/websites that claim you to send notifications if a screenshot is taken. But, they are not genuine. Instagram doesn’t allow these third-party apps to do so for security reasons.
Even if they show the people who have taken screenshots of posts or stories, they are just randomly generated usernames. So, these third-party apps or websites can’t tell you who has actually taken the screenshot.
It is always advisable to stay away from these fake applications.
