Step 1: Launch your Facebook application and tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the app.
Step 2: Under your name, tap See your profile. This will land you on your profile page.
Step 3: Tap your profile picture.
Step 4: A list of options pops up. Select View Profile Picture.
Step 5: Your profile picture will be shown in full view. Now, tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
Step 6: Tap Delete Photo.
Your profile picture will be removed and it will now have a blank default picture.
If you are using the web version of Facebook on your mobile browser or a PC, the process remains the same to remove your profile picture.
How to Remove Facebook Profile Picture Without Deleting
If you don’t want to delete your profile picture but still want to have a blank profile picture, then you just need to adjust its privacy.
Step 1: Go to your profile and tap your profile picture.
Step 2: Select View Profile Picture.
Step 3: Tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
Step 4: Then, select Edit Privacy.
Step 5: Choose the option “Only Me“.
Your profile picture will now be visible only to you. The other users will see a blank profile picture.
