Unfortunately, you can’t pin your own comments on your Instagram posts. You can only pin other people’s comments on your posts or reels.
Unlike YouTube, Instagram does not allow you to pin your own comment to the top. If you think you have a special message to convey on your post, it’s preferred to write it in the caption instead of commenting under the post.
How to Pin Someone’s Comment On Your Instagram Post?
Below is a step-by-step guide to help you pin somebody’s comment on your Instagram Post.
Step 1: Launch Instagram on your device.
Step 2: Open your Instagram post that you want to pin comments.
Step 3: View the comments on the selected post and choose a comment you want to pin.
Step 4: Long press the comment to reveal the pin icon. Then tap it. On iPhone, swipe left the comment, then tap the pin icon.
The selected comment will be pinned successfully.
The comment will now appear on top of the comments list with a pin icon below it.
Keep in mind that you can only pin three comments on your post at a time. You’ll have to remove one of the three pinned comments to pin another comment.
Does the Other Person Get Notified If You Pin Their Comment?
Yes, Instagram notifies the other person when you pin their comments on your post.
This is how they get a notification – “your-username pinned your comment on their post”.
The notification is default and you can’t turn it off. You can’t pin someone’s comment without letting them know.
