Most people love showing their opinions using a poll and this has become a new way to engage your followers on Instagram. It lets you quickly collect your followers’ thoughts in an interactive way.
If you aren’t taking the advantage of the poll sticker on Instagram, you should definitely try it out. This will help you to figure out their likings and opinions.
In this article, I’ll be guiding you to create a poll on your Instagram story.
How to Create A Poll On Instagram
Creating a poll on Instagram is easy. You just need to make a story as usual and use the POLL Sticker.
Step 1: Launch the Instagram app on your device.
Step 2: Create a new story. Swipe right on your home screen to open the story editor. Or, tap the + icon, then select Story.
Step 3: Select a photo or take a new one.
Step 4: Tap the sticker icon (smiley emoji) at the top.
Step 5: Tap POLL. You can even search for it using the search bar.
Step 6: Type your question and add your answer. By default, Yes and No will be added as answers. Tap them to change it.
Step 7: You can reposition the sticker by dragging it wherever you want it to appear on your background photo. To zoom in and zoom out the poll sticker, pinch out and pinch in.
That’s it. You can now share it to your story. Anyone viewing the story will be apple to poll their opinions. They can also see how many percentages of the people have voted for each answer.
How to See the Poll Response
To view the poll response, open your story, then tap Activity in the bottom left.
Here you can see:
- Total Votes: It shows how many people have voted for each answer along with the percentage response of each answer.
- Voters: Users who have voted along with their response.
- Story Viewers: Users who have seen the story.
To share the poll results, tap Share Results, then share it to your story.
How to Make A Poll On Instagram With More Than Two Options
For most Instagram users, the Poll Sticker allows you to add only two answers.
Instagram has been testing the poll with multiple answers (upto 4). However, it has not been rolled out yet globally to all the users. It is available in some regions for a few users being selected for the best test of the feature.
To use a poll with multiple options, you need to follow the steps mentioned above. If the feature is available for your account, you’ll see “Add another option…” on the poll sticker.
Here are two things that you can try if you want to use the poll with multiple options.
- Update the app: Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Instagram app.
- Switch your account: If you have multiple Instagram accounts, try using the sticker in all of them. You might find one with the feature you’re looking for. In my case, one of my Instagram accounts has this feature while two of them don’t.
